The first loop in "na" of निताइ is Nitaichand grabbing hold of us and circling His arms around us so that we can never go away from Him henceforth. Even before we can come to the stage of imploring to Nitai, "Nitai na chado more!"...Nitai has clutched onto us and is crying to us saying..."Now I have caught you, where will you escape?"
We have to gradually develop our relationship with Krishna nam while chanting, but in Nitainam Lekhan, Nitai holds us to His chest even before you can complete the first syllable.
Sometimes you just have to let go and focus all your energy in remembering Nitaichand. It's like a cool breeze when you're surrounded with blazing heat. You'll become happy. Nitai more koro sukhi. Just try to do whatever you can to remember His lotus feet and He will reciprocate.
The best remedy and the best solution is Nitainam Lekhan.
Writing Nitai's name with one's whole palm increases the tickling sensation one feels in one's heart while doing Nitainam Lekhan with the forefinger. The tickling sensation moves up from the hand all the way to the chest.
Since Nityananda Prabhu is Sandhini Swarupa, carrying Him in our heart is the same as carrying the dhama in our hriday mandala. As soon as the Dham appears, nitya lila is bound to manifest! Radha Krishna's lotus feet are always in Vrindavan Dham: Vrindavanam paritajya padam ekam na gacchami. Never do They move a step out of Vraja. So when that Vraja mandala manifests in the playground of our heart, immediately we attain Radha Krishna pada yuga. Just as the holy abode (Nitai) is the playground of pastimes for Gaur Radha Krishna, so is Nitainam - the personification of Sandhini Shakti. By doing Nitainam Lekhan with rapt attention, very soon we will become eligible to carry the Dham with us in our heart at all times.
The name "Krishna" truly seems sooooooooo attractive and just filled up with so much intoxicating sweetness when one does Nitainam Lekhan! The all-attractiveness of the name Krishna (which means all-attractive) starts pouring out. You feel like chanting Ha Krishna, ha Krishna...Krishna Krishna...like Nitai all day! What sort of enchantment is this? How has the name "Krishna" become so sweet after doing Nitainam Lekhan? Never did it capture my heart this way before! Oh Nitai! Oh Nitai!
Asking forgiveness from Nitai also becomes easier during Nitainam Lekhan. It feels like we are tugging on His blue dhoti and imploring Him to forgive all our nonsense.
The desire of lust is mostly interconnected with our sense of touch. The root cause of all sensual desires is this sense of touch. Even the mere contemplation of touching one's object of lust arouses the whirlwind of lusty desire. Whether it be on the physical or mental plane, it is deadly. A thorn can only be removed by another thorn. So the solution to this deadly touching is spiritualized touching. Nitainam Lekhan!
When we touch the epitome of spirituality, Nitai's Saccidananda Vigraha, automatically the sensual desires generated from mundane sense of touch are counteracted. Our desire for vikrita rasa (perverted) is mitigated by the enjoyment of mula rasa (original). All glories to Nitainam Lekhan, the subduer of lust!
Nitainam Lekhan can enhance the ability of retaining important things in our memory for a longer period of time also. In fact, funny enough, it also seems to supply the exact thing we need at the exact, perfect timing. For example, one can remember the appropriate verses for a particular topic just when required.
Anything is possible with Nitainam Lekhan! Nitai is the master of wonders.
Our greatest enemy is our own false ego. Nitainam Lekhan vanquishes that ego.
Joy Nitai! Is it just me being a crazy lunatic or does Nitainam Lekhan make you admire and see the beauty in Nitai's pictures a lot more too? It just makes you like everything about Nitai a lot more. Many may think that worshipping Namakshars takes one away from admiring the beauty of His archa vigrahas, but actually we will realize that it's quite the opposite. You see a level of beauty within the image or deity of the Lord that you couldn't have possibly appreciated before. It's like Nitainam Lekhan refines our vision.
Just as Nitai is the Lord of the hopeless, Nitainam Lekhan is also a lifesaver for those sadhakas who are struggling with their sadhana since time immemorial. It brings a new energy into our bhakti.
Nitaichand is just too kind. This is not something which can be described in words...ever. To even try to put it in words would be belittling Nitai's extraordinary quality, yet one cannot help it. He is just so very kind. Such kindness cannot be seen anywhere else. He never stops giving the fallen soul, the struggling sadhaka...innumerable chances - even after they are continually showcasing their inability and incompetence to utilize His generosity by persistently butchering every chance given to them.
We keep on failing Nitai, but Nitai never fails to give us another chance. But Nitai doesn't get angry or frustrated upon us. He just does not know how to. On our ongoing journey of trying to execute devotional service, we are falling down so many times. We are letting Gaur Radha Krishna and Vaishnavas down at every moment, but Nitai will never let us down. Similarly, Nitainam Lekhan is a sublime process that we can always count on. If Nitai won't let us down, neither will Nitainam Lekhan. In fact, Nitai will uplift us via Nitainam Lekhan! At any condition, at any time, at any mental or physical state...we can take shelter of Nitainam Lekhan. Nitai will not disappoint us. He will wrap us in the blanket of His mercy without judging our internal or external condition.
The only thing struggling sadhakas (like myself) are steady in is falling down. Just seemed to have gotten super lucky to have found a Lord who is just as persistent in picking us back up as we are in falling down.
Even a dog in Ekachakra is far superior to humans or even heavenly beings existing anywhere else in the three planetary systems. There is no comparison...no comparison at all.
Nija gana sarvasvam atulam. Nitaichand is the most precious wealth, the all in all of His dear devotees, as described by Srila Vrindavan das Thakur. They know no one else except Him. Nitainam Lekhan is the greatest touchstone for Nitaibhakts because it allows them to come into direct "touch" with the Lord of their life. Nitainam Lekhan unites them with Nitai and increases their love for Nitai. Therefore, Nitainam Lekhan is no less precious of an invaluable treasure to Nitai's servants as Nitai is Himself.
The first big round loop in the "na" of Nitai's name is proof of the fact that Nitai is the sun who has arose in this age of Kali to dissipate the blinding darkness covering all directions with His own effulgence. Citrau san-dau tamo-nudau. He is also the moon who has come to relieve the fatigue of Kali jivas by His own cooling rays. The bigger we will write the loop of na in the air and visualize it internally, the more Nitai's effulgence will pervade our heart.
Nitai always finds some way to connect with us through out the day if we begin it with Nitainam Lekhan.
Nitainam Lekhan is our friend at the time of distress, just like Nitai. Normally it is very tough to do sadhana when we are feeling very low in Bhakti. Many devotees have trouble even completing their rounds during that depressive phase, as it becomes very hard to focus the mind on the Lord. But Nitainam Lekhan is a rare exception even in terms of sadhana. One actually feels like doing Nitainam Lekhan even more when they are going through rough times because it makes one feel Nitai's presence so deeply, and that is extremely reassuring and calming. All the turmoil going on within our minds automatically settles down. You just feel Nitai intimately conveying to that He is there and everything will be alright.
